1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

• Account information: Email address and display name when you create an account via Firebase Authentication (email/password or Google Sign-In).
• Profile data: Your ANZSCO occupation code and subscription status, stored to personalise your experience.
• Points calculator inputs: Age, English level, work experience, and other fields you enter. These are processed on-device and not stored on our servers unless you save your profile.
• FCM token: A Firebase Cloud Messaging device token to deliver push notifications about state nominations and occupation alerts.
• Usage analytics: Aggregated, anonymised usage data (e.g. screen views, feature usage) via Firebase Analytics to help us improve the app.
• Crash reports: Anonymised crash and performance data via Firebase Crashlytics.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To operate and personalise the app (points calculator, state tracker, AI assistant).
• To send push notifications for occupation and state nomination updates you subscribe to.
• To process your Premium subscription via RevenueCat (we do not store your payment card details — these are handled by Google Play Billing).
• To provide context-aware responses from the AI assistant (Aria) — your messages are sent to Google's Gemini API and are subject to Google's AI Terms of Service.
• To improve app features through anonymised analytics.

3. Third-Party Services

MigrateAU uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

• Google Firebase (Auth, Firestore, FCM, Analytics, Crashlytics) — Firebase Privacy
• Google Gemini API (AI assistant) — Google AI Terms
• RevenueCat (subscription management) — RevenueCat Privacy
• Google Play Billing (payment processing) — Google Privacy Policy

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in Google Firebase servers. Firebase uses industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. We apply Firestore Security Rules to ensure each user can only access their own data.

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.

5. Push Notifications

If you enable push notifications, we send alerts about:

• State and territory nomination openings relevant to your occupation.
• General Australian migration news.

You can disable notifications at any time in your device's system settings or within the app's Profile screen.

6. Premium Subscription

Premium features are offered as a monthly or annual auto-renewing subscription via Google Play. Subscription management, including cancellation, is handled through your Google Play account. We use RevenueCat to verify entitlements — they receive a receipt token but not your full payment details.

7. Children's Privacy

MigrateAU is intended for adults (18+) who are participating in the Australian skilled migration programme. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us to have it removed.

8. Your Rights

Under Australian Privacy Law (Privacy Act 1988) and applicable regulations, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data.
• Opt out of analytics collection (via device settings).

9. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is removed from Firestore within 30 days. Anonymised analytics data may be retained for up to 26 months per Google's Analytics data retention policy.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via an in-app notice or email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision.
